This session examines the basic areas of leadership that
will be necessary for your company or organization to
succeed as the forest products industry recovers from
one of the worst setbacks in recent history. Learn the
key assessments that must be conducted, how to quantify
the results, and the steps necessary to improve your
team so it can help take your operations to the next
level.
Many edger optimizers that appear to be running “ok” are
actually falling far short of their profit potential.
Why? What is the potential magnitude of the hidden
opportunity? How can you improve recovery and grade
yield at your edger, without sacrificing product
quality. This session examines the most common hidden
but correctable issues that may be keeping you from
getting all that is possible.
Continuous Kilns—How and Why They Work: A Thermodynamic
Analysis of the Continuous Lumber Kiln in Use at Bibler
Brothers Lumber Co.
This session presents the
results of temperature and moisture gradient
measurements taken while a kiln is in operation drying
various lumber products under different operating
conditions. Results are interpreted through a
themodynamic modeling process to predict how the
variables in continuous kiln drying impact production
and lumber grade associated characteristics.
