Bioenergy: An Emerging Industry in Wood Fiber Markets
As production of wood pellets and biopower grows, friction in the market is inevitable as companies in the pulp and paper, building products and bioenergy industries all compete for the same materials.  Changes in land ownership over the last 10 years have contributed to the friction with annual harvest potential going from 56 million tons when the land was managed by forest products companies to 18 million tons under TIMO management. This session offers a look at available resources and a forecast of demand and prices both regionally and locally.
